Another Birthday Cake - Double Chocolate Brownie

This "order" from my sister was received last month, following the delivery of my first order for my eldest sis's birthday. My family has been very supportive on my baking adventure :D haha. It is a hazardous job to be the food taster for my bakes, I can only thank them by ensuring that my bakes are healthier than store-bought bakes.

To Bake or Not to Bake?

I have not been baking for quite a while as I was reading about keeping healthy. As we aged, our metabolism rate is not as high as before. The same diet we had when we were 19 may cause a problem for us if we are to follow it when we are 39. At 39, I have to watch my diet - I have to remind myself to eat in moderation. Exercising is important too. I have been doing Zumba for a year now, it is a class which I look forward to attending every time! :) But I realized my weight has been stagnant, it must be my diet and weakness for cakes/cookies :p

First decorated cake!

I did it!!! I have never imagined myself to be able to do this! :) After 2 failed sponge cake attempts, 1 successful sponge cake, I managed to complete the Japanese strawberry shortcake finally! THANKS to Happy Home Baker's clear instructions! :)

It's a Brownie, it's a Muffin

I have baked these brownie muffins at least 4 times (within 4 months). Simply love the texture and smell of these muffins. Chocolate lovers will like this! Thanks to Happy Home Baker for this wonderful recipe!

It is a new beginning!

Ho ho.. yes this is my first bake after many many years.. I feel so happy to bake again :)  when I was juggling a full-time job as well as being a mother, I would spend every weekend relaxing :p well it was my excuse for being lazy :D

4 months ago, when I was being notified that my position has been made redundant, I have been thinking about my next step. At my age (mid-life crisis >_<"), I finally had the chance to re-think about what have I been doing (or what I have been wanting to do but did not have the chance to), and what I want to do next. I guess many will not understand how it feels like to be made "redundant" unless you have been through one yourself? I am grateful that my family and friends at work were supportive during that time.
